The function of the damper is to pre-rotate the air to make the air flow into the impeller more smoothly. If a left-handed damper is installed on a right-handed fan, the wind will directly impact the blades, which is mainly manifested as overshoot load and strong vibration, if the damper is fully open, the current will rise straight, and in severe cases, the motor will burn out.
Today I will share with you how to distinguish the rotation direction of the damper. Let’s first look at this horizontal damper. First, we need to find the support rod of the damper as the base point (or take the air intake direction as the base point), and then observe the rotation direction of the linkage handle from fully closed to fully open, clockwise rotation is right rotation, counterclockwise rotation is left rotation.
How to distinguish the rotation direction of the damper installed on the fan? First, we stand on the motor side and observe the direction of the handle from fully closed to fully open (the direction of the switch will also be marked on the damper to help us better distinguish), clockwise rotation is right, and counterclockwise rotation is left.
Just I shared is the method of distinguishing the rotation direction of the petal-type damper. The common forms of the damper are single-plate, three-plate and louver. Among them, the single-plate and three-plate are not divided into rotation directions, and can be installed directly according to the direction of the air intake.
